This October, we’re celebrating a very special milestone with some of our Focus Korean students.

They started their Korean journey with Beginner Level 1.

And this October, they are moving into Intermediate Level 1A.

That is a journey worth celebrating!

⭐ From Beginner Level 1 to Intermediate Level 1A

These students started with Beginner Level 1 and continued progressing through the Focus Korean curriculum:

Level 1 → Level 2 → Level 3A → Level 3B → Level 4A → Level 4B → Level 5A → Level 5B → Level 6A → Level 6B

After completing this beginner pathway, they are now ready for:

Intermediate Level 1A

That’s a tremendous amount of Korean learning!

When these students first started Beginner Level 1, Intermediate Korean may have seemed very far away.

Now, they’re there.

This is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching Korean—watching students continue to grow and seeing how much they can accomplish when they stay committed to their learning journey.

🌱 Progress Happens One Level at a Time

Learning Korean can feel overwhelming when you think about everything you eventually want to learn.

Grammar. Vocabulary. Speaking. Listening. Reading.

But you don’t have to learn everything at once.

You simply focus on the next level.

One level builds on another, and little by little, your Korean becomes stronger.

That’s how these students reached Intermediate Level 1A.

They kept going.

💬 Today’s Korean Grammar: ~에서

Let’s review a useful Beginner Level 2 grammar point.

~에서

~eseo

~에서 is used to show where an action takes place.

수업에서 한국어를 공부해요.

Sueobeseo hangugeoreul gongbuhaeyo.
I study Korean in class.

집에서 한국어를 복습해요.

Jibeseo hangugeoreul bokseuphaeyo.
I review Korean at home.

학교에서 한국어를 배워요.

Hakgyoeseo hangugeoreul baewoyo.
I learn Korean at school.

You can also use it with everyday places:

도서관에서 책을 읽어요.

Doseogwaneseo chaegeul ilgeoyo.
I read a book at the library.

식당에서 밥을 먹어요.

Sikdangeseo babeul meogeoyo.
I eat at a restaurant.

It’s a simple grammar point, but you’ll use it constantly in everyday Korean.
