Beginner Level 1 is designed for students who are completely new to Korean and want to build a strong foundation in Hangeul.

What You Will Learn

✔ Korean vowels and consonants
✔ Korean pronunciation and sound recognition
✔ Forming and reading Korean syllables
✔ Compound vowels and double consonants
✔ Final consonants (batchim)
✔ Reading and writing simple Korean words

Lesson Overview

Lessons 1–2: Korean vowels and consonants

Lessons 3–4: Syllable formation and compound vowels

Lessons 5–6: Double consonants and final consonants (batchim)

Lessons 7–12: Reinforcement of Hangeul reading, writing, pronunciation, and basic vocabulary

Learning Outcomes

By the end of Beginner Level 1, students will have developed a foundation for recognizing Korean letters, reading syllables and simple words, writing Hangeul, and pronouncing common Korean sounds.

Students can then continue to Beginner Level 2 to begin learning basic Korean sentence structures and everyday expressions.
