영양소 (營養素) Nutrient

생물의 몸을 구성하거나 에너지로 사용하기 위해 꼭 먹어야 하는 물질을 말한다. 영양소는 영양분이라고도 하며 에너지로 사용하는 탄수화물과 지방, 세포와 조직을 만드는 단백질, 생리 조절을 위한 비타민, 무기질 등이 대표적이다. 영양소가 부족하거나 너무 많으면 병에 걸리게 되므로 건강을 유지하기 위해서 영양소를 균형 있게 섭취해야 한다.

“영양소” is a substance that you should take in to build your body or to use as energy. Nutrients, which are also called nourishments, include carbohydrate and fat used as energy, protein that make up cells and tissues, and vitamins and minerals that control physiology. You should consume nutrients in a balanced way to keep healthy because you will get sick if you take in either excessive or insufficient amounts of nutrients.

– 영양소가 골고루 들어 있는 식품을 섭취하는 것은 적절한 운동을 하는 것만큼 중요하다.
– 같은 나이라도 성별과 개인에 따라 몸에서 필요로 하는 영양소의 차이는 크다.

○ Examples

– Eating foods that contain various “영양소” is as crucial as exercising.
– Even among people of the same age, each person needs “영양소” that are quite different from those needed by others depending on their gender and personality.

Young adults are recognizing the growing opportunities in Korea and adopting the language to give themselves a leg up over the competition.

2. The alphabet is easy to learn.

The Korean alphabet, Hangul, is a phonetic alphabet with 24 letters and is very easy to read and write.

It is written from left to right and it has a unique way of organizing its letters into syllables where consonants and vowels are neatly arranged in blocks.

3. Korean phonetics are easy for English speakers.

Korean phonetics come easily to English speakers. Korean is usually pronounced exactly the way it’s written.

4. Many Korean words are made up smaller, single syllable words.

Many compound Korean words are made up of single syllable words and you can usually take a rough guess at its meaning if you can recognize them.

5. Help understand family background better. (For 3rd, 4th, 5th generation Koreans)

Learning Korean will help your child to understand their past. Maybe your ancestors lived in Korea. Maybe you have family or friends of Korean heritage. Learning about Korean language and culture will give your child a deep appreciation for his/her ancestors as well as for this ancient culture.

6. Learning Korean can be fun and easy.
